ঢাকা-চট্রগ্রাম মহাসড়কে কুমিল্লার চান্দিনায় ৩ কেজি গাঁজাসহ মো.সাকিল খান (২২) নামে এক মাদক ব্যবসায়ীকে আটক করেছে চান্দিনা থানা পুলিশ।
শুক্রবার (৪ ডিসেম্বর) সকালে মহাসড়কের পালকি সিনেমা হলের সামনে থেকে চান্দিনা থানা উপ-পরিদর্শক (এস আই) মো.গিয়াস উদ্দিনের সঙ্গীয় ফোর্স নিয়ে তাকে আটক করা হয়।
আটককৃত মাদক ব্যবসায়ী মো.সাকিল খান ফরিদপুর জেলার সালথা থানার বাউশখালী গ্রামের আবদুল মান্নান খানের ছেলে।
এ ব্যাপারে চান্দিনা থানা উপ-পরিদর্শক (এস আই) মো.গিয়াস উদ্দিন জানান, চান্দিনা পালকি সিনেমা হলের সামনে মহাসড়কে গাড়ির জন্য অপেক্ষা করছিল সাকিল খান। এ সময় পুলিশ দেখে দৌড়ে পালানোর চেষ্টা করলে তাকে গতিরোধ করে সাথে থাকা ব্যাগ তল্লাশি করে ৩ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করি। পরে তাকে আটক করে থানায় নিয়ে আসা হয়।
এ ব্যাপারে চান্দিনা থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) শামস্উদ্দিন মোহাম্মদ ইলিয়াছ জানান, আটকৃত মাদক ব্যবসায়ীর বিরুদ্ধে চান্দিনা থানায় মাদক নিয়ন্ত্রণ আইনে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে এবং বিজ্ঞ আদালতের মাধ্যমে জেলহাজতে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে।
